I Hand Out Dating Resumes to Men I Find Attractive — Hookup Apps Don’t Work

~ SEPTEMBER 2022 ~

Sometimes you just have to do the work yourself!

A woman has the internet in stitches after handing out “dating resumes” to men she fancied, claiming online dating hasn’t yielded any results.

Emily Zgoda, 27, from San Diego, California, hasn’t managed to find love on Hinge, Tinder, or Bumble — so decided to make physical copies of her dating app profiles instead.

Zgoda documents her attempts, posting videos of her handing out the “resumes” on TikTok, gaining more than 10 million views on her viral videos, which thousands of people follow with bated breath to see if she’ll find “the one” from her smooth process.

“She’s her own wing man,” she captioned the first video posted last month, showing her handing out her profile, showing a picture of her herself with information on the back usually found on an online dating profile.

On her profile, she had a picture of her holding two mini Irish themed hats over her chest and when she flipped the picture over, information about her was written on the back detailing her love of St. Patrick’s Day.

She added a ‘green flag’ she looks for in a man is he shares her love for “St. Patty’s Day” and that her most irrational fear is “being sick on St. Patty’s day,” also including her name, age, and phone number so her future love can easily contact her for a date.

TikTok followers loved the innovative plan, with thousands of users commenting on the “genius” idea.

“This is literally the best thing on the internet,” one user declared. “You’re literally gonna meet your soulmate doing this.”

“You are a friggen icon I’m crying,’ someone else wrote.

Zgoda hasn’t found her soulmate as of yet, posting part 12 of her dating series this week as she dropped her profile to her latest crush.

“Had my eye on this babe for awhile now,” she wrote, updating followers to say he texted her.

She also updated followers on how it’s gone with the men she’s dropped a resume to, saying some were in relationships and some were too young, but she’s still working on it.

Zgoda said she decided to her pursue her new method of love after not making a connection with online dates.

“I have gone on a few Hinge dates here and there, [and] most of them have been with great guys, just not my guy,” she told Buzzfeed.

“It’s a harsh reality that some of our generation relies on dating apps instead of meeting organically, and I have always had hopes of meeting someone in person,” she continued, saying most of the interactions have been positive.

“I figured this would be a good strategy to cut to the chase and meet someone in the wild.”
