~ May 2021 ~ Dating experts have revealed the 10 warning signs to watch out for if you believe your partner is cheating.
Yasmin Ibrahim, intuitive guide at EKHO Wellbeing, revealed her guide to help women gather the evidence they need to put their mind at ease – or to confront their partner over their infidelity.
She told FEMAIL people should ‘follow their gut’ if they fear somebody is being unfaithful and ‘trust their intuition’.
Meanwhile Tina Wilson, a relationship expert and founder of Wingman app, said that a sudden shift in your partner’s mood could also signal an affair.

1. GUT INSTINCT SAYS SOMETHING ISN’T RIGHT
Yasmin said that the ‘easiest signal and the one thing people tend to rely on the least’ is their gut instinct.
The dating expert said people should pay attention if they feel something is off, particularly if it comes out of the blue.
She revealed: ‘This signal is received as a random thought in the moment, something that makes you stop and question a realisation.
‘Your intuition is very accurate and provides you with signals to threats, changes in behaviour or your environment so listen to it.’
2. SUDDEN SHIFT IN MOOD
Tina explained a sudden shift in mood could also be a sign your partner is being unfaithful.
She said: ‘It’s important not to jump to worst case scenario, but if you have begun to feel suspicious that something is off, it’s a good idea to start paying attention to some of the smaller behaviours.
‘There could absolutely be harmless explanations for any of the behaviours, but being mindful and conscious is going to help you figure it out.’
Yasmin added that changes in behaviour for ‘no apparent reason’ could be another subtle sign.
3. DRESSING DIFFERENTLY
Yasmin said subtle changes to behaviour could include dressing differently to usual to go out for everyday activities or a night out with friends.
If new clothes and/or underwear have been purchased, which is unusual in the relationship, it may be that they are wearing it for someone else and making more of an effort.
4. CUTTING CONVERSATIONS SHORT
Meanwhile the dating expert also explained that changes in your conversations could indicate a partner who is trying to cover something up.
Yasmin suggested a cheating partner might ‘cut conversations short’ or ‘become defensive about where they are going.’

5. PICKING UP A NEW HOBBY
Yasmin revealed how those who suddenly adopt a new hobby or hang out with a new group of friends, might be using it to conceal their cheating.
She said an unfaithful partner might also choose to spend more time with a new group of friends as opposed to their usual friends or family.
6. BEING PROTECTIVE OF THEIR PHONE, SOCIAL MEDIA OR EMAIL
They may also take their phone to the bathroom, keep it on silent or always keep it face down. Any calls are taken in a different room.
Yasmin revealed putting a new password on their phone or frequently changing its password could indicate someone is cheating.
She said: ‘If they are panicked when you get close to the phone, it could be signal there is something on the phone that they don’t want you to see.’
7. DRAMATIC CHANGE IN SEX DRIVE
Yasmin revealed a change in sex drive could mean that there’s more or less sex in the relationship.
The partner could feel guilty for cheating, so wants to cover it up by initiating or avoiding sex because they’re getting it elsewhere.
8. OBSESSIVELY CHECKING THEIR PHONE
Obsessively checking phones may have become normal culture, but it can be a sign your partner is potentially cultivating a relationship.
Yasmin said that you might notice your partner’s phone habits have increased or they start using a new platform to communicate.
She explained: ‘Often, a cheating party will delete messages so as not to arouse suspicion and clean up the trail therefore, having an awareness of the whole picture helps you affirm your instinct.
if you find yourself questioning whether your partner is cheating, it is best to get to the bottom of the situation.
‘In healthy relationships, there is no need to hide online interactions as there is a good foundation of trust. However, the moment they become secretive, it arises suspicion.’
9. FINDING FAULTS WITH YOU
She said that a partner will want to blame someone other than themselves when they are looking for a reason to justify their infidelity.
Things that have never bothered them before may start to become a problem or they may drag up past arguments and act very hurt by your behaviour.
Tina said that this is a classic case of ‘the best form of defence is attack’.
10. WANTING TO CHANGE THEMSELVES
A partner who suddenly takes an unusual interesting in their appearance, gym attendance or changing the way they look could signal their feelings have changed.
The sudden want to change themselves could signal they are wanting to keep their body in line with this change in feelings.
Tina said: ‘When you have a new relationship, it’s normal to want to feel your best, so this could be a sign.’
