8 Sex Podcasts That Will Help You Get Better in Bed, or at Least, Entertain You
~ OCTOBER 2022 ~
If you’re looking for some relationship advice or simply curious about what other are up to, from exploring kinks and dating trends to bedroom tips and personal sex stories, these sex podcasts have got you covered.
Discover what’s true and what’s total BS (once a cheater, always a cheater) with the Science of Sex podcast hosted by Zhana Vrangalova, Ph.D., a New York City-based sex researcher and educator whose primary mission is to “debunk popular sex myths that ruin lives.” Every week, Vrangalov and co-host Joe Pardavia interview a sex scientist about their research covering a wide range of topics. but the unique thing about it is that you get the information directly from the scientists themselves and they explain it in a way that anyone can understand.
Ask Women Podcast: What Women Want
Dating coach and comic Marni Kinrys and Kristen Carney will tell you how to text her, build sexual tension, escape the friend zone, and even how to avoid your own #Metoo movement. If you’ve ever wanted to really get into a woman’s mind and see what she’s thinking, this podcast is definitely worth a listen.
Amy Baldwin and April Lampert are here to teach you how to feel pleasure. While some of the other pods on this list are also informational, this one might be the most illustrative. Rather than focusing on personal stories, the sex toy mogul (Lampert) and sex and relationships coach (Baldwin) are really here to help you have better sex. They cover everything from the basics, with some episodes focusing on things like masturbation and hand jobs, but they also do deep dives into more complex topics like asexuality, sex with chronic pain, and how to become more dominant in the bedroom.
Esther Perel, a relationship therapist, takes you inside one-time couples therapy appointments. The problems they come to her with are simultaneously universal—lack of sex, an affair, erectile dysfunction—and, of course, highly personal. One episode features a man who uses a French accent to break out of his shell with his wife. Perel will amaze you with the creativity and empathy of her questions and suggestions for her patients. It’s pretty much impossible to finish an episode of this podcast without getting some insight into what makes relationships and sex work (or not work).
Talk about Gay Sex podcast is a bi-weekly podcast about LGBTQ+ positivity and sexuality. Host Steve V. Rodriguez invites a rotating cast of co-hosts and experts on each week to tackle a new sexy topic. They open up about everything from hilarious personal sex stories to douching tips, and the result is all the funnier thanks to the intimate rapport Rodriguez cultivates with his guests.
It’s hard to make a “Best Sex Podcasts” list without including Dan Savage’s Savage Lovecast. The author and sex advice columnist has been in the game since 1991, so he has extensive background in the field. But on top of nearly 30 years of sex advice experience, what makes Savage Lovecast so revolutionary is Savage’s ability to stay not only relevant, but on the cutting edge of sex advice. His takes are both wild and deeply empathetic (“Sometimes, I think adultery is better than divorce”). But one thing is certain: No one’s going to shoot you straighter (or gayer, depending on the episode) than Savage.
Black Love Matters are hilarious and raw conversations about love while being black. From finding your inner Barack and Michelle (or Jay-z and Beyonce) to your spouse eating the last of the ice cream to building a better life without losing your roots, hosts Niram and Niambi tackle all these matters and more.
